Oak & Iron Apothecary™: Herbal Tea Formulation
Comfort for tension, stress-related headaches, and head pressure
This herbal tea is designed for adults who occasionally experience:
Tension-related headaches
Stress-driven head pressure
Headaches associated with muscle tightness or sensory overload
Mild to moderate headache discomfort
This product is intended for comfort, not medical treatment or ongoing headache management.
1. Muscle tension and nervous system calming
Lavender helps reduce the “tight, wound-up” feeling often associated with tension headaches, especially when neck, shoulder, or sensory overload is involved.
2. Stress-response regulation
Tulsi and ashwagandha support a more balanced stress response, which is often a key driver in recurring tension headaches.
3. Inflammation modulation
Turmeric and rosehips support a healthy inflammatory response and contribute to overall comfort.
4. Gentle vascular and alertness support
A small amount of green tea provides mild caffeine. This helps avoid an overly sedating effect and may be helpful for some headache patterns.
Tulsi (Ocimum tenuiflorum)
Supports stress resilience and nervous system balance.
Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia)
Helps soften muscle tension and reduce sensory overload.
Nettle (Urtica dioica)
Provides mineral-rich nutritive support and helps ground the blend.
Rosehips (Rosa canina)
Adds mild tartness and supports the inflammation-focused side of the formula.
Turmeric (Curcuma longa)
Included for its role in supporting a healthy inflammatory response.
Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera)
Supports stress adaptation and nervous system steadiness..
Green Tea (Camellia sinensis)
Provides a light caffeine lift to avoid an overly sedating effect.
This formula was designed to have its own identity.
We intentionally avoided peppermint, ginger, chamomile, and other ingredients that would make it feel like a digestive or general calming tea.
Instead, this blend is specifically built for:
Tension-related head pressure
Stress-driven headache patterns
Calming without heavy sedation
Use 1 level tablespoon (approximately 3–4 g) per 10–12 oz hot water
Steep 12–15 minutes (covered)
Strain and drink
This is a heavier blend, so the longer steep is intentional.
This formula is based on a combination of human clinical data, mechanistic research, and traditional-use monographs. Rather than relying on a single “headache study,” this blend is constructed around known contributors to tension-type headaches, including muscle tension, stress-response patterns, and inflammatory signaling.
